Conor McGregor’s Latest Appearance Cancelled for Unknown Reasons
UFC lightweight king has left more than a few fans in the lurch this coming weekend in London, after cancelling a scheduled Q&A appearance he was due to make entitled “An Evening with Conor McGregor- Up Close and Personal”.
With tickets selling at up to 1100 pounds, fans are sure to be dismayed to discover that McGregor will not be showing up to the 02 Arena Indigo in London, with absolutely no explanation being given.
The Q&A was set to be McGregor’s first public outing after he lost his professional boxing debut against Floyd “Money” Mayweather in the tenth round by TKO late last month. The event was scheduled to be hosted by UFC colour commentator and UFC veteran Dan Hardy, with fans looking forward to finding out what may be next for the Irish mixed martial arts star.
Unfortunately, it seems fans will have to wait a little longer to find out what could be next on the horizon. UFC president Dana White has said that a potential third fight between McGregor and his arch-rival Nate Diaz would not be occurring on December 30th and UFC 219, but that hasn’t stopped McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh from saying he’d like to have the potential third fight take place on St. Patrick’s Day in early in 2018.
Diaz and McGregor’s potential trilogy is one that has captivated fans around the world. Diaz first stepped in on short notice to fight McGregor at UFC 196 and came away with the victory on just eleven days notice. McGregor started the bout off strong, landing heavy shots but ultimately tiring himself out.
It was in the second round that Diaz began to accelerate his pace, landing crisp combinations that wobbled the Irishman, who tried to take the fight to the ground. Unfortunately for McGregor, his opponent happened to hold a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and he was promptly submitted on the ground.
The second fight between the two men saw an all-out war break out across five rounds, with McGregor edging out a decision over his Stockton born nemesis. Fans are now eager to see the third bout and finally find out which of the biggest UFC lightweight stars is the more talented of the two.
