Betting Agencies Release Odds For Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather

One of the world’s most popular sportsbooks, Bovada, has set odds on the possible matchup between the UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and veteran boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. The odds are quite heavily slanted toward Mayweather, with Bovada listing McGregor at +950 and Mayweather at -2250.

A $100 bet on McGregor would net $950 if he won, while fans would have to lay down $2250 on Mayweather to win just $100.

“This fight is a long shot to happen, in my opinion, and McGregor is a bigger long shot if it does happen, ” said Kevin Bradley, the sportsbook manager at Bovada. “Floyd has never really been hit his entire career against the baddest professional boxers in the world, so Conor will have to shock the world to even lay some leather on Mayweather.”

While McGregor may be one of the best fighters in the MMA world, Mayweather is 49-0 as a professional boxer, and is known for his elusive, wily style of boxing. Both fighters have taken shots at each other over the last year, but it doesn’t look like the fight will happen any time soon, despite McGregor applying for a boxing license in the state of California. It has also been announced today that McGregor was knocked back on an application for a license to box in Nevada.

Mayweather was exasperated earlier this month to hear McGregor had been compared to him. “I’m a legend. A living legend. To the sport of boxing I gave years and years of hard work, it was blood, sweat and tears, had a tremendous team, had a tremendous run. I think if Conor McGregor need to go out there and do what he do, but never compare Conor McGregor to me. It’s a total disrespect.”

The president of the UFC, Dana White has said that Mayweather would have to fight in the cage for a shot at McGregor, and this was recently refused by Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather promotions.
