Dana White Confirms Robbie Lawler Will Fight At UFC 213
UFC president Dana White has just confirmed that a dream fight for many fans of mixed martial arts is finally going to happen. While the fight may have fallen through once in the past, White happily confirmed that both Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler have verbally agreed to fight. Both are well known for their grit, determination and absolutely terrifying striking skills.
The two fan favorites were previously scheduled to face off at UFC 205 in New York last November but the fight was scrapped after Lawler opted to take more time off. Lawler had been knocked out for just the second time in his career by Tyron Woodley during his third title defense in July 2016.
Looking forward once again, Lawler will be aiming to start his climb back up the welterweight ladder, having held a five fight win streak before his loss to Woodley.

Donald Cerrone will also be attempting to restart his win streak at welterweight, having racked up four fantastic wins including a highlight reel finish over Rick Story before losing to Jorge Masvidal in January.
The bout is sure to feature a lot of high level striking, and probably a lot of blood when you consider that Lawler and Cerrone incredible strikers. Whilst Lawler was an All-American wrestler, Cerrone holds a black belt in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and is known to be a technician off of his back. Whether or not we will see any of the fight go to the mat is anyone’s question, but you can be sure the fight will be in the running for “Fight of the Night” honors.
The two are scheduled to fight on the UFC 213 card during International Fight Week on July 8th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While a main event for the card has not been announced yet, you can bet this dream matchup will be toward the top of the card!
