Holly Holm’s Incredible Body Transformation Ahead of Showdown with Cyborg

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and one-time UFC women’s featherweight title contender Holly Holm is getting ready to take on Cris “Cyborg” Justino on December 30th. With just weeks to go until Holm takes on the best female featherweight mixed martial artist the world has ever seen in front of a massive crowd at the UFC 219 on New Year’s Eve, it seems that Holm has been putting in a huge amount of work in the gym.

Holm has only recently managed to end a depressing three-fight losing streak with her highlight reel question mark kick knockout of former bantamweight title contender Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore. The 36-year-old Albuquerque based kickboxer had been on a slide since losing her bantamweight title to Miesha Tate in the fifth round of their bout at UFC 196 via rear naked choke, before losing to both Valentina Shevchenko and Germaine de Randamie by unanimous decision.

Germaine de Randamie would later be stripped of her featherweight championship after drawing criticism for allegedly avoiding fighting Cyborg in her first title defence. De Randamie would be stripped of her title on June 19th of 2017, with Tonya Evinger eventually stepping in to face Cyborg for the vacant women’s featherweight strap.

Cyborg would go on to brutalise Evinger across three rounds before achieving a technical knockout victory after landing vicious knees on Evinger that would force the referee to step in and call a stop to the action.

Cyborg has amassed a record of eighteen wins and just one loss, with sixteen of her victories coming by way of knockout or technical knockout. In short, she’s a scary, scary person to be matched up, as many former challengers can attest to.

Many former opponents and prospective foes including Germaine de Randamie have accused Cyborg of abusing performance-enhancing substances after she was caught using stanozolol, an anabolic steroid back in 2012. She was later caught by the United States Anti-Doping Authority (USADA) for using a substance to help her recover from a weight cut but was issued with a retroactive therapeutic use exemption, meaning she could return to action straight away.

Holm has been vocal against the use of performance enhancers in MMA, saying in a (since deleted) statement on Instagram that she has been tested many times.

“She said she’s been tested by USADA and wants to be tested just as much, and she probably should have looked on their public records on the USADA web page and seen I’ve been tested nine times compared to her eight. I’m in no race, I really don’t care, I just know I compete clean and they test me all the time. So, I just never needed an applause for passing my tests.”

Fight fans have now turned their attention to new images of Holm that have come out of her training camp, where she is looking to have put on some great size ahead of her bout with Cyborg. Check the new shot out below and let us know what you think!
