Mark Hunt Goes Absolutely Ballistic on Dana White
UFC heavyweight fan favourite Mark Hunt has become well known for keeping it real. The New Zealand-Australian striker has released a new statement via his social media pages condemning the UFC’s president Dana White after it was revealed that Hunt would no longer be taking on Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on the 19th of December.
Hunt has been replaced by his heavyweight rival, former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, who he faced at UFC 180 back in November of 2014. This, of course, adds salt to the wound for Hunt when you consider that Werdum and Hunt had originally been set to face off at the UFC Fight Night 110 card.
Werdum claimed he was injured when the rematch with Hunt was put to him, before suddenly having a fight booked against Derrick Lewis at UFC 216 once Hunt was booked to fight Tybura. Hunt was obviously displeased with the outcome, calling Werdum a “filthy dog” on Instagram.
Hunt has been at odds with the UFC brass for over a year now, since he faced WWE superstar Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lesnar originally won a unanimous decision, but his victory was overturned following a positive test for the performance-enhancing substance, clomiphene, an estrogen blocker.
Hunt is involved in an ongoing lawsuit against the UFC after the promotion waived a mandatory drug testing window instated by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in order to allow Lesnar to appear on the UFC 200 card on short notice. Hunt initially demanded that he receive Lesnar’s entire $2.5 million purse from the event.
The UFC was reluctant to meet his demands, and Hunt, in turn, took the promotion and Lesnar to court, arguing that the UFC and Dana White had put him in the cage “with knowledge or willful indifference” to the fact Lesnar had been using performance-enhancing substances.
The big question is whether a promotion such as the UFC is responsible in some way for the excessive damage to clean fighters that fighters caught using performance enhancers have inflicted, and whether or not they should be held accountable in this case for waiving Lesnar’s mandatory USADA drug testing window.
“u peice of s*** m*****f*** why u f****** pull me from the fight u getting another lawsuit u f***wit u can kiss my ass u bald headed prick u put that chicken shit bitch in get f***** c***sucker” Hunt posted on his Instagram page following the news he had been removed from the UFC Sydney card.
Fans of Hunt have flocked to show their support for the fighter, with his initial post garnering over 10,000 likes in just over two hours.
