Two Massive Former Strongmen Throw Down In Awesome Freakshow Fight

Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (aka KSW) is fast becoming the king of the freakshow fights and ya know what? We bloody love it!

The Polish promotion’s latest event, KSW39 ‘Colosseum’ went off with a bang in Warsaw this weekend: as well as a bout involving ex-bodybuilder Robert Burneika and a rapper with tattooed eyeballs, they also put on a fight between infamous former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski (aka ‘Pudzian’) and another strongman by the name of Tyberiusz Kowalczyk.

Fighting in the co-main event, the pair of giants wasted little time meeting in the centre of the Octagon to trade heavy blows.

Mariusz Pudzianowski is a former strongman champion.

This was not one of those tactical contests where both fighters take their time and figure out their opponent’s movements: this was more like a carpark brawl from start to finish.

Amazingly, the fight made it out of the first round but Kowalczyk clearly took the majority of the damage. By the second, Pudzian’s chopping leg kicks were having a real effect on his opponent who began to limp.

Tyberiusz Kowalczyk took part in the battle of the strongmen at KSW.

Sensing his opportunity, Pudzian clipped Kowalczyk with a huge overhand right, dropping him to the canvas. He got on top and rained down vicious elbows until his opponent was forced to tap out.

Widely known for their freakshow matchups and high-quality promotional videos, ‘Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki’ are making a name for themselves in the world of MMA. Founded in 2002, they are now widely considered to be the premiere MMA organisation in Poland and is one of the leading promotions in Europe.

By the looks of things, KSW clearly don’t give a fu*k about testing for PED’s but no one can deny that their events generate a hell of a lot of interest, as illustrated by the 58,000 in attendance for this event.

Mariusz Pudzianowski wins via submission.
