WATCH: Adrien Broner Threatens To Anihilate McGregor If He Keeps Boxing
One of the world’s most talented boxers, Adrien Broner, has weighed in on UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s recent foray into the world of boxing. McGregor made his professional boxing debut at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last month against veteran boxing king Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Starting off early with some exciting activity, McGregor was ultimately unable to take home the victory against his aging opponent.
In his fiftieth professional win (with no losses to his record), Mayweather walked McGregor down as he began to fade in the tenth round after expending too much energy, and was eventually TKO’d, much to the dismay of his many fans and supporters.
Often calling Mayweather his “big bro”, Broner weighed in and gave some career advice to the Irish mixed martial artist, saying “If he wants this work, I’ma f*ck him up,” in an interview with TMZ Sports. “But other than that, I want him to stay away from this sh*t.”
“He just made a sh*tload of money man, go back to the UFC and win… Floyd is an older Floyd. If he fights anybody else, he’s going to fight a young lion who is going to make an example out of his ass. I think he should just run, retire, go have fun.”
When asked as to whether he agreed with former UFC light heavyweight star Chuck Liddell’s assertion that boxers should not cross over into mixed martial arts, the young boxer agreed, but said that boxers “had a better chance of beating them in MMA, because [they] fight better than [mixed martial artists].”
All told, McGregor is believed to have taken home over $100 million for his professional boxing debut with Mayweather, so regardless of what he chooses to do next, he has earned more than enough money to have some fun. In fact, the Irishman has spent the better part of the last three weeks partying in Ibiza, Spain, with no set date for his return to the octagon being announced as of yet.
